Five Weight Loss Benefits of Massage Therapy
Posted by: | CommentsThere is something strange about excessive weight gain. The bigger you get, the smaller you regard yourself. This is the irony most obese people experience, and the primary reason why weight loss programs always get high traffic among search engines.
There is hope, and the least one you expect. But massage therapy is getting the buzz, and a lot of positive reviews, too.
However, do not expect massage therapy to perform magic on your double chin, or in other areas of your body that have the most flab. It can only work effectively if you abide by the rules of good health, such as keeping your hand off junk food, and exercising regularly. It is also recommended that you keep a positive attitude about your weight loss regimen, and not to push yourself to the extremes like exercising until you drop, or go on starving.
How You can Benefit from Massage Therapy
There are five ways you can benefit from a good massage. However, please bear in mind that you can only reap these rewards if you combine good massage with exercise and regular balanced diet:
1. Increases Metabolism. Regular massage tones and strengthens the muscles for faster metabolic rate. As muscles get pumped up by massage, faster metabolism burns calories a lot faster for effective weight loss.
2. Elimination of Excess Body Fat. Body fat capsules are lodged in tissues and muscles and stay there. Regular massage kneads the muscles loose of these fat capsules, and as they break out, they are absorbed by the body for proper waste elimination.
3. Conditions muscles and tissues. Regular massage conditions and prepares the muscles for your daily activities. Without regular massage, the body becomes sluggish and fat deposits increase as metabolism also slows down. This is the reason why good exercise should form part of your personalized weight loss regimen.
4. Relieves Stress. A good massage relieves the body of stress that produces lactic acid. Lactic acid buildup causes the muscles to ache. Sore muscles limit your activity, and lethargy encourages obesity to set in.
5. Detoxifies the Body. Toxic buildup harms the body. A good massage promotes healthy blood flow that facilitates proper elimination of toxic substances from the body.
For sure, the next time you get a rubdown, you will appreciate it more. Massage therapy is a relaxing way to losing weight, with maximum health benefits. Avail of a good massage soon!

Massage Therapy: Relaxing Way to Effective Weight Loss
Posted by: | CommentsWho would not want to don revealing swimsuits at the beach? Most people love attention! However, if you have a problem with the bulge, you would think twice, right? This is primarily the reason why many weight loss pills and crash diets are peddled on the internet like candies; there is just high demand.
However, health professionals don’t share this excitement. They want to caution people with underlying health problems to seek medical advice first before they commit to any weight loss program as the risk may be higher than they thought. If you want a safe, all-natural weight loss program that does not put your life on the line, get a massage!
That’s not typo error. Massage therapy is the new buzz word for weight loss.
Yes, it is. However, massage therapy cannot work independently of exercise and a balanced diet. Unlike other weight loss programs that will suppress your appetite, massage therapy does not require you to skip meals, or wolf down diet pills to stay in shape.
How Does it Work
Massage Therapy offers good relaxation, which calms the mind and has therapeutic effect on the body. On top of this, a good massage delivers five benefits that are directly related to weight loss:
1. Gets rid of water weight. An adult human body is composed of water, averaging between 55 and 60%, depending on gender and age. Excess water compounds the body’s water weight. To gain back your ideal weight, excess water should be eliminated from your body. Exercise does this; regular massage aids in the proper elimination of excess water from your system.
2. Kicks off metabolism. Massage Therapy increases blood flow throughout the body. This hastens the body’s metabolic rate, which in turn accelerates the speed at which the body burns calories.
3. Dissolves body’s fat. As muscles and tissues receive regular massage, fat deposits disintegrate and get easily absorbed by the body for proper elimination.
4. Improves the bulk of muscle vs. fat. Regular massage penetrates the muscle and improves its tone. Toned muscles churn up calories faster, and eliminate fat build-up in the body.
5. Eliminates toxins from the body. Weight loss is hastened by getting rid of toxic buildup caused by the precursors of obesity: excessive consumption of junk food and a lethargic lifestyle. Regular exercise, balanced diet and regular massage tone the body inside and out; fat build-up is minimized, if not at all eliminated.
Massage Therapy combines relaxation and weight loss in a manner that you will not even notice. There are no hunger pangs, no side effects to worry about – just potent combination of good health and good looks.

North Carolina Wellness Center Offers Free Chair Massage to Any Political Candidate
Posted by: | Comments6th Sense Health and Wellness Center offers any candidate running for public office in the state of North Carolina a complementary chair massage until Election Day.
Nike Roach, president, who served in the Armed Forces, said that “he understands that when you are out on the battlefield, people back home may not know what it’s like to be out there. It’s no different with regards to politics. Some people just see running for office as a natural extension to practicing democracy.”
John Magee, REP running for NC House District 72 indicated that though he appreciated the offer, he had to decline as “it may not be appropriate to accept a free gift while running for public office.”
According to Mr. Roach, the offer is open to any candidate regardless of political affiliations in the state of NC or others campaigning in the region until Election Day. Candidates have the option of receiving their complementary massage either at the company location or at a whistle stop in Forsyth County.
In a letter, State Senator Linda Garrou stated “Thank you for creating such an excellent wellness program in Forsyth County… I truly appreciate your effort to offer a natural alternative to relieve pain the Winston-Salem community.”
Mr. Roach, who is non-partisan, votes regularly and says that “as long as the candidates leave politics out of any confidential conversation, we will make sure they are all feeling happier when they leave our office.” So far one Republican candidate with tight shoulder muscles has taken the offer but decided that he would just pay for the visit, said Mr. Roach.

Cardiologist Dr. Guarneri Speaks on the Peoples Pharmacy About “Healing the Heart”
Posted by: | CommentsYesterday as I drove through the Blue Ridge Parkway with the little ones, chirping in the back seat and the leaves of autumn painting a hue that can only be described as Devin, I had the inclination to turn on the radio.
Maybe it was a reason to drown out the impending argument of the two year old fussing with his older brother or maybe just a reason to have an adult conversation in my mind. Regardless of the reason, I found an interesting program on the radio on a show that I listen to quite often. The Peoples Pharmacy Host Joe and Terry Graedon talk with Mimi Guarneri , MD, FACC about Healing the Heart.
In the program, what struck me as eye opening was that a cardiologist with years of surgery experience decided that mainstream cardiovascular medical intervention may not be appropriate in many cases.
The show centered on the topic that the body is a holistic mechanism that reacts to the environment and can be damaged from such acts as stress, anger, and poor lifestyle choices.
The program further went on to discuss some of the results that Dr Guarnari obtained that were intriguing. Such remedies as group therapy, acupuncture, stress and anger management, herbs, meditation, vitamin as well as some medications were indicated with far better results than the conventional surgical approaches. Dr. Guarneri indicated that prevention medicine is has better results but it is not always taught to medical students.
